The World of Ideas
This unit covers a variety of stories on "What keeps our world working?" We will learn about helpful plants and various (renewable) sources of energy. We will learn about different ideas created to help the world continually and efficiently run. We will learn about how humans have contributed successfully to improving the world around them. By the end of this unit, students should be able to explain how our world works, along with several changes and upgrades created to improve our lives.
The students will also come up with their very own business venture and explain the process of making their creation. They must create a business of their choice, figure out costs and supplies, market their business, and discuss whether it is a good (concrete item) or service (action) that they are selling. Students can build a one-of-a-kind business, and apply their learning in creating their own business! Along with this activity, students will learn about the importance of money exchange and bartering, in reference to these and other business ideas. They will learn about the worth of money and why (and how) it was created for our use.
