This unit will cover a variety of stories, focused on Earth's forces. We will discuss how gravity, motion, force (push or pull), magnets, and weather work. We will be talking about useful gadgets and key terminology over scientific concepts. We will also discuss weather and how seasons and weather patterns are formed. We will learn about natural disasters, and how to take care of Earth!
We will also be discussing the earth, moon, and sun. We are learning many new things about what makes up our solar system. We will discuss the different bodies of the solar system, and how they are alike and different. Students will learn of the roles of the earth, moon, and sun, and how they work together in space. Students will read about the sun, moon, and earth, and in turn, learn about how scientists continue to study and explore our galaxy: The Milky Way!
As a class, we will continue our scientific search by discussing the processes and procedures for scientific questioning. We will talk about how to experiment and come to a conclusion, based on the evidences that are a result of the findings of that experiment. Finally, we will discuss the impact of scientific discoveries in our lives! By the end of this unit, students should be able to describe several scientific facts about the world around us.
